My understanding on Microstrategy

MicroStrategy provides enterprise analytics and mobility software that helps organizations analyze their data and make informed business decisions. The platform allows companies to connect to various data sources, create interactive dashboards, generate reports, and distribute insights across their organization.

MicroStrategy is particularly valuable for:

  • Large enterprises that need to analyze massive amounts of data across multiple departments and make that information accessible to thousands of users.
  • Industries like retail, finance, healthcare, and telecommunications where data-driven decision making is critical and organizations need to track KPIs, customer behavior, and operational metrics.
  • MicroStrategy offers robust security features, making it suitable for regulated industries that need strict data access controls.

MicroStrategy provides several options for embedding its analytics and dashboards into portals and applications. 

Few options to embed the apps/dashboards into portals:

Features:

  • JavaScript SDK for embedding dossiers (dashboards), reports, and visualizations
  • Supports both Library (full interface) and Dossier (specific dashboard) embedding
  • Provides APIs for controlling the embedded content

Best Practices:

  1. Use Embedding SDK for modern implementations - Better control and features than plain iframes
  2. Implement proper authentication - Use tokens or SSO rather than embedding credentials
  3. Handle responsive design - Ensure dashboards work on different screen sizes
  4. Manage session lifecycle - Handle token refresh and session timeouts
  5. Consider performance - Pre-cache data, use intelligent cubes, optimize queries
  6. Security considerations:
    • Use HTTPS
    • Implement proper CORS policies
    • Validate authentication tokens
    • Restrict access based on user roles

Build Pega Applications with GitHub Copilot CLI, Pega Infinity AI Plugin & MCP — Branch-Based Agentic Authoring

To work on this experiment, we need the Github Copilot CLI, Pega Infinity Instance, and Pega Infinity AI Plugins ( https://github.com/pegasystems/infinity-ai-plugins ) . In my case, I have used the Pega Infinity V26.1 Community Edition and here is the Github repository to upload it in the Github Copilot plugin marketplace. For this entire exercise to work well, we need Java 17 or above.  Windows Command Prompt (Agent-Driven Terminal): Represents the Github Copilot CLI. itextpdf API to generate PDF doc from an image file using Pega PE

Probably some of the techies might have an idea on an opensource called " itextpdf " (earlier name is lowagie ) to convert an image file(png,jpeg,jpg,tiff,gif etc.) to a PDF file. It is very simple to use this API in Pega function to build the logic using java code. Moreover, this API comes in one single jar file and we need to import it in Pega before we start using it.  I see the conversion comes good in PDF file but not sure if any limitations of this API in terms of conversion is like formatting, font, images etc. So far so good and may be we can keep this API as one of our solutions while working on the requirements accordingly.  Heard that same API can be used to convert the text file to PDF but I didn't explore on it.
