My 4 weeks of ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification

The ServiceNow System Administrator Certification (CSA) demonstrates that a successful candidate has the skills and essential knowledge to contribute to the configuration, implementation, and maintenance of the ServiceNow system. The exam consists of approximately 60 questions. For each multiple-choice question on the exam, there are at least four possible responses. Pass percentage for the exam is 75%, so you have to pick more than 45 correct answers.

The one which I finished the CSA exam is based on San Diego version in ServiceNow platform. Here is the blueprint for the exam topics and there is a weightage for each topic.











To pass the exam, here is my  4 weeks of serious preparation:

Week#1: First week is the SN fundamentals training sessions and these sessions are virtual from an instructor. With 3 days of training, we get an idea on the whole platform at a high level. I got few qns from these sessions and mostly those are on UI side. So, we need to focus more on this training and grab as much as the knowledge from those classes. As a part of this training, we get an eBook and here is the link can be accessed after SN permission only. To be honest, this eBook is super useful for understanding the concepts of SN platform.

Week#2: Second week is the actual preparation for CSA and for this SN has given an online material. This is free reference for the exam point of view and this material covers all the  CSA exam topics mentioned above. Though this course is for 18 hrs of time frame but I gave a week time to go through all lessons & lab exercises thoroughly. From this course, most of the questions would come and one should concentrate more on the content. After finishing the course, there is voucher for booking the exam from https://www.webassessor.com/ and we can choose either online or onsite option to write the exam. I preferred online exam from my home due to Covid situation.

Week#3: Third week is the practice on the Personal Development Instance to cover all main concepts in San Diego version. This instance was requested during above trainings and we can use the same instance to practice all UI, navigation etc to get ready for the exam perspective. Along with this practice, we can refer the sample questions from google and the flashcards also. Here is the list of links which I did refer well.

Week#4: Fourth week is the final week to revise all the topics, qns, etc multiple times and book the exam from the above authorized test center.


Though this certifications seems to be easy but what I felt is like it is not that easy. I did revised all the questions twice and thrice before final submission. All questions are tricky and we can't judge the answers until & unless we have some practical exposure on the platform. That is what my observation after clearing the exam. 15-20 standard questions from the above links are sure(100%) but the remaining 30 questions are based on the platform exposure and/or experience in SN as per my experience.


Note:  As per SN policy, we need to give Delta exams after clearing the initial exam in any version. For more information, pls visit the SN community site and we also get notified on this once we pass the initial exam.


Once we pass the exam, the CSA certificate would be sent to our registered email like below.

To work on this experiment, we need the Github Copilot CLI, Pega Infinity Instance, and Pega Infinity AI Plugins ( https://github.com/pegasystems/infinity-ai-plugins ) . In my case, I have used the Pega Infinity V26.1 Community Edition and here is the Github repository to upload it in the Github Copilot plugin marketplace. itextpdf API to generate PDF doc from an image file using Pega PE

Probably some of the techies might have an idea on an opensource called " itextpdf " (earlier name is lowagie ) to convert an image file(png,jpeg,jpg,tiff,gif etc.) to a PDF file. It is very simple to use this API in Pega function to build the logic using java code. Moreover, this API comes in one single jar file and we need to import it in Pega before we start using it.  I see the conversion comes good in PDF file but not sure if any limitations of this API in terms of conversion is like formatting, font, images etc. So far so good and may be we can keep this API as one of our solutions while working on the requirements accordingly.  Heard that same API can be used to convert the text file to PDF but I didn't explore on it.
