Easy to install Pega Customer Decision Hub(CDH) in Pega Infinity V851 PE

Before we install, let's get a high level idea on Pega Customer Decision Hub. Customer Decision Hub is a solution that combines data management, decision management, and advanced analytics across multiple channels. CDH is fully integrated with Pega Platform and can utilize many of its features to ensure that decision-making in your application is always driven according to the Next-Best-Action principle. You can use Pega Platform to build your own decision-making hub that quickly and accurately provides the most relevant value-added decisions. Customer Decision Hub comes as part of Pega Marketing by default. CDH can also be added to Pega Strategic Applications, such as Pega Customer Service or Pega Sales and Onboarding. It is very easy to install Pega CDH in Pega Infinity running on V851 PE provided we should have that CDH8.5 software with us. The key for this installation is to get the CDH packages, DB scripts etc before we start implementing. Simply follow the below 12 steps to get ready with your PE running on CDH. This whole process would take 2 hrs of time for me since my laptop is not a high configured one 😀😀

Steps:

1) Create a DB schema: externalmktdata in the PostgreSQL using pgAdmin tool given in the PE 85

2) Create a DB rule: ExternalMKTData using Records > SysAdmin >Database using Dev Studio in V85 (admnistrator@pega.com)

3) Create a DSS for the above schema under RS: Pega-Engine, purpose: prconfig/database/databases/ExternalMKTData/defaultSchema/default with a value: ExternalMKTData

4) Recycle the server to reflect the above changes in the PE.

5) Import the Pega CRM 8.5 software zips (\Documents\Pega\Pega CDH\116869_PCRM8.5\Rules\) using import wizard. This software is available in community site and you can download it from the site.





6) Execute the Pega CDH Setup utility (Documents\Pega\Pega CDH\116869_PCRM8.5\ResourceKit\setup\setup.bat) for running all DB scripts. Make sure to have the below values are right from the file: database.properties under  folder: Documents\Pega\Pega CDH\116869_PCRM8.5\ResourceKit\setup\database.properties

7) Recycle the server one more time to have the above changes get impacted.

8) Check the DB tables created in the step:1 and we can see 24 tables in the schema: externalmktdata







9) Check whether we are able to access the Pega CDH application from Dev Studio and also making sure to click New Application wizard showing the new option to create CDH/Ops manager app

To create a new application in Dev Studio ==> Application:Pega Platform > New Application

10) Create a sample application using CDH and launch the Customer Decision Hub portal from the Dev Portal. We can see Next-Best Action > Designer from the left side panel.

11) If we see any err in step:10, we need to resolve this err by going into App Studio > Settings > Context Dictionary > click Save button to overwrite rules that have not been modified. We must have the CDH Admin Accessgroup in the operator to perform this operation from App Studio.












12) All set to start working on Next-Best-Action Designer as per step#10.

Build Pega Applications with GitHub Copilot CLI, Pega Infinity AI Plugin & MCP — Branch-Based Agentic Authoring

To work on this experiment, we need the Github Copilot CLI, Pega Infinity Instance, and Pega Infinity AI Plugins ( https://github.com/pegasystems/infinity-ai-plugins ) . itextpdf API to generate PDF doc from an image file using Pega PE

Probably some of the techies might have an idea on an opensource called " itextpdf " (earlier name is lowagie ) to convert an image file(png,jpeg,jpg,tiff,gif etc.) to a PDF file. It is very simple to use this API in Pega function to build the logic using java code. Moreover, this API comes in one single jar file and we need to import it in Pega before we start using it.  I see the conversion comes good in PDF file but not sure if any limitations of this API in terms of conversion is like formatting, font, images etc. So far so good and may be we can keep this API as one of our solutions while working on the requirements accordingly.  Heard that same API can be used to convert the text file to PDF but I didn't explore on it.
