Useful Utility For Debugging Final Rules
I would like to give an OOTB activity which allows us to debug on any of the final rules (eg: SaveAttachment). The name of that utility is " pzPrivateCheckOut" and this requires a parameter of pzInsKey of the selected final rule.Once after running the utility, we see the status as Good to go ahead and open the final rule in checkout mode and add the debugging stuff to it for testing purpose. Once after we completed the debugging, we will revert back the changes on that final rule by click on delete checkout.Hope this helps us in our day to day development situation.
Utility:
Run with below value for a final rule:SaveAttachment
See the below status for proceeding further
Open the checkout version of the final rule
Add the Log-Message or whatever debugging stuff you want to to add this rule
After testing/debugging done, click on delete checkout like below
As I am not aware of the disadvantages of this approach, I leave it open with you all to decide whether we go for it or not. Also not sure about the best practices stand point whether this approach is a good approach to debug on final rules or not. One final request is not to use this in production environment.
